Ms. Boampong
Computer Instructor/Tech Coordinator

Ms. Boampong graduated with a B.S. in Computer Science from Howard University in 2002 and a M.S. in Computer Science in Computer Science from Howard University in 2004. In 2008 she obtained M.Ed in Special Education from George Mason University. Ms. Boampong is certified by the Virginia Board of Education to teach students with Learning Disabililties and Emotional Disturbance (grades K-12)

Ms. Boampong has been at Accotink Alternative for four years. She has taught Computer Literacy I & II, Web Page Design, Technology for Publication,Technology for Career & Future Success, Consumer Math, Algebra, and Journalism. In addition to her teaching responsibilities, Ms. Boampong coordinates state required educational testing such as the Virginial SOLs, DC-CAS, SAT and ACT. She is responsible for the upkeep of the school computers and network and she also chooses assistive technologies for students and trains students and staff in their use.

Ms. Boampong has served as the secretary of the Parent Teacher Student Association since Fall of 2006. She is also the current teacher representitive and member of Accotink Alternative's administrative team.

Before coming to Accotink Alternative Ms. Boampong volunteered for the National Organization for Women. She tutored and mentored college students at Howard University in the Science, Math & Engineering Program. She previously taught social studies, math, and English at the junior high school level in Ghana.
