Carol St. Germain has been with the Accotink family for almost twenty-nine
years as a reading specialist and special education teacher. This is
her second year at Accotink Alternative. She holds a B. A. (Spanish)
and a M.Ed. (Reading Specialist) from Lynchburg College. She holds a
Post-Graduate Professional Virginia license, with endorsements in Spanish
PreK-12, History, Elementary 4-7, Reading Specialist K-12, Specific
Learning Disabilities K-12, and Emotional Disturbances K-12.
Ms. St. Germain's professional experience includes four years of public
elementary school teaching and five years of clinical/private reading
diagnosis and remediation. She is presently teaching classes in Spanish,
English, journalism, theatre, and reading. She was also founding Chairman
and President of Camp C.H.I.L.D., Secretary of the Lynchburg ACLD, and
a pioneer volunteer in the New Orleans public schools. She is a member
of the LDA, the ASCD, and the AALC PTSA.
